Former men's soccer player and GW graduate Craig Jones enters his sixth season as a volunteer assistant coach with the men's program. He will assist the coaching staff in several areas of the program, including training and game management.

In addition to his duties at GW, Jones is currently working with numerous youth soccer clubs in the Washington, DC, and Virginia areas. His responsibilities include coordinating training services and developing young soccer players. He also handles sales, marketing and promotions of year-round soccer training programs.

Jones holds a USSF `A' Coaching License and is currently a member of the Virginia and Washington, DC, ODP coaching staffs. His involvement in youth development recently took him to Germany to successfully coach against the youth program of Bayern Munich and other German youth teams. He has served as the director of numerous college and residential summer soccer programs in both the U.S. and Europe and recently worked with the DC United Youth Academy. Jones earned a UEFA License in 1998 and a NSCAA National Diploma in 2003.

Jones played and captained the Wales National Youth Team prior to his four-year career at GW. He started all but one of his 63 matches played from 1995-98, totaling 28 points on 12 goals and four assists during his career. Following his collegiate career, Jones competed semi-professionally in England and Wales before returning stateside to pursue his coaching licenses.

The Wales native graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University in 1999 and currently resides in Washington, DC.
